Eid in Abu Dhabi runs to a familiar rhythm: prayers, family visits, a long lunch, and then a stretch of afternoon that nobody has planned. The desert is the easiest answer to that stretch, which is why the camps fill up over every Eid weekend.

Here is what to expect, what it costs, and when to book.

Eid Holiday Dates in the UAE

Eid Al Fitr 2026 fell in March and the confirmed UAE holiday was:

  • Public Sector: Thursday March 19, to Sunday March 22
  • Private Sector: Thursday March 19, to Saturday March 21 (extended to Sunday if Ramadan completes 30 days)
  • Work resumes: Monday March 23, 2026

The next Eid Al Fitr is expected in the second half of March 2027, but nobody can print an exact date yet — it depends on the moon sighting, and the UAE Cabinet confirms the official holiday a few weeks beforehand. Eid Al Adha will follow around late May 2027 on the same basis. Treat any site quoting exact 2027 Eid dates today with suspicion; we will update this page when the Cabinet announces.

Is the Desert Safari Open Over Eid?

Yes, every day of it, and on the same timings as any other evening.

Eid is actually one of our busiest times of the year. Families and visitors from across the UAE come to the desert during this long weekend to celebrate in a way that feels connected to the culture and spirit of the occasion.

Book early for Eid. It is the one period of the year where the shared vehicles genuinely sell out, and the private cars go first. A week ahead is comfortable; the day before is optimistic.

What It Costs Over Eid

The same as any other day of the year. We do not run a holiday surcharge, and the prices below are the ones you will pay at the camp:

  • AED 35 per person — you drive yourself to the camp
  • AED 50 per person — shared coach from Al Wahda, Mazyad or Safeer Mall
  • AED 100 per person — shared Land Cruiser, collected from your hotel or residence
  • AED 250 per person — the full evening with VIP majlis seating and a quad bike included
  • AED 599 for a private seven-seater, whole car, your own pickup time

Nothing is charged in advance and every booking is free to cancel up to 24 hours before pickup — useful over Eid, when family plans change at short notice.

Camp add-ons are published too: VIP seating AED 50 a seat, quad bike from AED 100, falcon photo AED 30. Nobody at the camp will quote you a different number.
