Information on this site

Everything here is written in good faith and checked before it goes up. Things still change — opening hours, ticket prices, road works, what a partner offers on a given week. If something on this site turns out to be out of date, tell us and we will fix it rather than argue about it.

Nothing on this website forms part of a contract until we have confirmed your booking in writing.

Prices

All prices are in UAE dirhams and include VAT. They are the prices we charge at the time of writing and we do not change them once your booking is confirmed.

Prices can change for future bookings without notice. If you have a written confirmation from us, that price stands.

Timings and sunset data

The sunrise, sunset and golden-hour times published on this site are calculated for Abu Dhabi and are accurate to within a few minutes. They are a planning aid, not a guarantee. Your actual pickup time is the one we confirm on WhatsApp, which also accounts for where you are staying and the traffic that day.

Third-party attractions and tickets

Where we list entry prices, opening hours or closing days for places we do not operate — the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Qasr Al Watan, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World, the Burj Khalifa, the Museum of the Future and similar — those are published by the attractions themselves and can change at any time.

We check them regularly and we have deliberately flagged the ones that catch people out, such as Monday closures and Friday prayer times. Even so, if a specific attraction is essential to your day, confirm it directly with them before you travel.

Adventure activities carry risk

Dune bashing, quad biking, dune buggies, sandboarding and camel riding are outdoor activities on uneven ground with animals and machines. They are enjoyable and they are also not risk-free, and we are not going to write a page pretending otherwise.

We provide briefings, helmets, goggles, experienced drivers and guides, and we will always let you stop. You take part at your own risk and you must follow the instructions you are given.

Check your travel insurance before you book. Many policies classify quad biking and similar activities as hazardous and exclude them unless you have bought an adventure extension. This catches travellers out regularly and almost no operator website mentions it.

Health and medical information

Where we say an activity is not advisable during pregnancy or with heart, back or neck conditions, that is practical operating guidance based on what these activities involve. It is not medical advice and it is not a substitute for asking your doctor.

Where we mention washing your hands around camels, or heat and hydration, the same applies — sensible precautions, not clinical advice.

Photographs on this site

Some images on this website are digitally generated or enhanced to illustrate the experience, and some are photographs from the desert and the camp. They are chosen to show honestly what a trip looks like.

No image on this site is captioned as a named guest, guide or staff member, and we do not present illustrative images as customer photographs. Dunes, light and weather vary day to day, so no photograph is a promise about the conditions on your date.

Who operates what

Golden Dunes Desert Safari arranges and sells the tours on this website. The desert camp, the animals at it and some vehicles are operated by established local partners rather than owned by us. This is normal in this industry and we would rather state it than let a website imply otherwise.

We choose who we work with and your booking is with us — if something goes wrong, come to us and we will deal with it.

Where we link to attractions, weather sources or ticket sellers, we do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices.

Weather and conditions

Temperature figures, seasonal advice and month-by-month tables on this site are typical averages for Abu Dhabi. Any given day can be hotter, windier or clearer than the average, and desert conditions change quickly.

Not legal or medical advice

Where we describe UAE rules — child car seats, where quad bikes may and may not be ridden, camping and environmental law — we do so to help you plan and stay out of trouble. It is a plain-language summary, not legal advice, and the law is what the law says rather than what our website says.
