SeaWorld Abu Dhabi opened on Yas Island in 2023, and its centrepiece is scale: a multi-storey aquarium habitat — among the largest on earth — holding tens of thousands of animals across connected marine environments.
There are no orcas, and the park’s public identity leans on habitats, feedings, and the attached research and rescue centre rather than the arena-show format of its older namesakes. Whatever your view of marine parks, this one was designed after that debate, not before it.
Substantially indoors and climate-controlled, it completes the Yas summer trio with Ferrari World and Warner Bros World.
Stand at the glass until somebody drags you off
The day organises itself around the central aquarium’s viewing windows — walls of glass where rays, sharks and shoals pass at their own pace. Children park themselves there the way the photograph above suggests, and honestly, so do the adults.
