A mosque, a memorial, a village — all free
The Grand Mosque — the city’s masterpiece, free with online registration. Ninety minutes minimum, dusk for the light.
Wahat Al Karama directly opposite: the leaning-tablets memorial with the mosque view across the pool — twenty quiet minutes that complete the visit.
Heritage Village at the Corniche’s end: a free twenty-minute sketch of pre-oil life with the best skyline viewpoint in town attached.
Those three alone beat most cities’ paid programmes.
Eight free kilometres, two personalities
The Corniche is the city’s own: open public sand, gardens, the cycle track, and the whole town walking it after five. The golden-hour stroll is the best free evening in the emirate.
Mamsha Al Saadiyat is the boutique shoreline — free to walk, café-priced to sit — with Saadiyat’s white sand alternating open and managed stretches.
Photographers: the classic skyline shot from the breakwater near Marina Mall costs nothing and outsells every postcard rack in the city.
Zero dirhams, properly spent
Morning: Corniche walk or the public beach while the light is kind. Midday: the mosque’s cool interiors (register the day before). Late afternoon: Wahat Al Karama, then Heritage Village’s viewpoint as the towers switch on. Evening: back on the Corniche with everyone else in the city.
